Opinion Guide and Key
Measures trust. Valuing teamwork, this isn't hard to earn early on, even as he's cautious about it. As more bars are added, it can also double for measuring how comfortable he is around a person.
Measures friendship levels. A friendly enough guy, it's not hard to earn a few of these quickly. It's when you start getting three or more that the friendship holds some meaning for him.
Measures responsibility levels. 'Responsibility' can be broken down into loyalty or favors owed as well. Due to the nature of drafts and missions, he's quick to extend it towards people he's worked with. 
Measures respect levels. While it defaults at one bar, this is by far the hardest to earn. Most people will hover at one or two, and getting three is a compliment of itself. A blank bar is likewise an insult, as he'll no longer respects you as a human being.
Measures troublesome levels. By far the easiest thing to earn: women even automatically start at one. What to take from it depends on how the friendship and trust bars look. If good, then he's sticking with you no matter what. If bad...
Measures danger levels. 'Danger' is perceived in several ways here: sheer power and fighting skill, physical danger posed to himself and others, and threats of a more personal nature.
