023 -- [Accidental Post]

[Earlier, when looking through his father’s book for the first time in several months, Shikamaru found some pictures he’d never seen before being used as bookmarks. It was… nostalgic, to say the least.

He finds another bookmark to replace them; puts the photos in a drawer to look at later. Because haha, he knows how this works, right? He leaves them out, and somehow his journal accidentally records it. Yeah. Hell no. He’s smarter than that and doesn’t leave his journal anywhere near them. On top of that, he takes it with him when he leaves to assist with a chakra training lesson. Crisis averted!

Guess what he sees when he opens up his journal two hours later.



Where’s the nearest wall. He needs to beat his head softly against it while he attempts to figure out how this happened. Feel free to action it up when he’s back at CH1 too, if you like.]

There's this thing I saw at the store called pop-tarts. The cinnamon ones without frosting are okay.

No -- [ she laughs ] -- it's a Greek thing. Pastry filled with spinach and feta. Onions too, maybe. Delicious.

Huh. That sounds less than disgusting, actually. They have 'em here, or would I have to make it?

I'm no cook but -- I don't think they're that tough. I'm sure one of the more culinarily inclined people around here could whip some up.

After some of the other dishes I've seen here... [He shakes his head, with a laugh.] Damn, I'd hope so.

Do we have anyone Greek in the village? I'm not sure...they'd know how to make it.

Earth place, right? There could be better odds of it with all the people here from within that world.

Earth place, yeah. European. Never been -- though I hear it's nice.

Doesn't surprise me. I haven't read up much on Earth, but from what I did look at, the locations seemed too widespread and numerous. Traveling to even a quarter of them would be troublesome.

Yeah. Airplanes are kind of your best bet to get around, back home. But even then? It's not exactly convenient. Transatlantic flights are the devil.

Well I meant for political reasons too. That'd be a pain during war-times

To be honest, I can't say as I've ever experienced an 'official' warzone. Y'know, the kind they write about in the papers. My stuff is all very...sub-radar.

Sorta. Maybe. I'm...used to it? The Slayer's supposed to keep her identity secret. The masses tend not to know about the whole vampire thing.

I guess it's just not what I expected. War effects everything, and I'm used to it being everywhere.

The public wars all seem so far away, back home. Or maybe that's because I'm so distracted fighting my own.

[That's an interesting flip on perspectives. Definitely sheds the civilians here like Masaomi in a stranger light.

The world at large doesn't...do well when they try and learn about demons and magic and vampires. Most ignore it. Most make up some other excuse. Some rational explanation.
