Anyways. I'm back. [Technically has been for two days albeit not in town, so he'll make it official.] Anything interesting hap- [His disinterested tone gives way to irritation as he turns his attention to something off-screen.] Oi that's not for you-

[The journal snaps shut with a sigh. He never finishes speaking, but about an hour later the post is transcribed... minus the interruption, and now with complete sentences.

If you're out today now that the heavy rain of the few days is finally letting up, you might spot Shikamaru coming back into the village from the North... closely followed by a deer much larger than Luceti's usual fare ((think five feet at the shoulders, six at the head, and eight feet with antlers)). The stag seems pretty content to follow him around - even into town or just standing around when he sits - despite sticking to the tree-lined paths when he can. Shikamaru talks to him sometimes.

You want the full story, it could take a while. I was out on a mission myself, so if you want firsthand accounts, talk to Lupin, Adele, or Commander Shepard. Raine Sage was also attacked, and I gather that a few others were involved in secondary and tertiary incidents that spun off.

About a week ago, Helios Sprensonne was possessed by some manner of Chaos god. He took it upon himself to attack House 46 and House 44 with dark magic. I only felt residual Dark Side power, but it was very strong. He managed to use his powers to forcefully bend Sabriel Abhorsen's will to his own. I gather that the local madman, Isaac, also worked with him.

In the end, I'm told that a goddess named Saori managed to bind this god with the help of Harry Dresden, while Commander Shepard and Rei Hino dealt with breaking the spells on Isaac and Sabriel.

I...came back to a mess. Again, forgive me for worrying.

[He knows some of those people. Not particularly well, but he knows them. Shikamaru narrows his eyes.]

Possessed? [He seems to be questionning himself, rather than probing Luke for information he may not have.] With something such as a god, how does that even happen here...?

Truthfully? I have no idea. I know that whatever it was affixed itself to him and took over. It could have been something the Malnosso did, or something dwelling in the enclosure we're unaware of.

[Or...like his recent troubles]

Or it could've ridden in with him when he arrived.

How badly were people hurt?

Lupin's arm was dislocated. Adele...had something happen to her mind, some sort of curse. Shepard's armor was damaged, but nothing more. He...drained Raine and Harry, and Sabriel was burned severely by something. I've yet to assess what happened to anyone else.

[A pause]

Helios is surprisingly uninjured. Whatever broke the possession did a good job.

Probably feels like shit. [Clinically.] No deaths though. That's something.

Either way. It seems things have at least settled down. But it makes me want to be somewhat more vigilant in the future.

Take some precautionary measures. Setups. Backups. You have to rely as much on the external as you do the internal in this place, where you can.

Yes. I've already started taking that into account. I've begun making chems from home, and preparing places to go to ground. Back home I've been at war for thirteen years. Stockpiles of food, too.

And I've started working on using some of the farmland up north.

One of the ponies, Applejack, has been tending to some of it. And from what I gather its only been a year. Either way, Giovanni, one of the Pokemon trainers, has had his Aggron up there terraforming it.
