If I see another mountain again, it'll be too soon. Did any of you know that sirry means "ridiculous"? [He snorts.] Explains a lot. Avalanches. Yetis. More freaking snow. Man, that mission was a pain...
[/whine and complain]
Anyways. I'm back. [Technically has been for two days albeit not in town, so he'll make it official.] Anything interesting hap- [His disinterested tone gives way to irritation as he turns his attention to something off-screen.] Oi that's not for you-
[The journal snaps shut with a sigh. He never finishes speaking, but about an hour later the post is transcribed... minus the interruption, and now with complete sentences.
If you're out today now that the heavy rain of the few days is finally letting up, you might spot Shikamaru coming back into the village from the North... closely followed by a deer much larger than Luceti's usual fare ((think five feet at the shoulders, six at the head, and eight feet with antlers)). The stag seems pretty content to follow him around - even into town or just standing around when he sits - despite sticking to the tree-lined paths when he can. Shikamaru talks to him sometimes.
Yes, talks, shut up.]

Those are the biggest quills I've ever seen. What made you decide to adopt this unique porcupine? [ is that what you kids call these things these days?! ]
action
Well he was kinda born on my land, for one.

What a weird definition of cool you got Tenten. ]action
That's a given. [It helps when you don't constantly hunt your deer.] If you want the honest truth, they're a different breed.

Wait?! A different breed? How many types of deer do they have here? The ones I've seen have been identical to the ones I see in and around Konoha. [ Tenten's experiences: they're the only possible experiences. She hasn't technically seen Madara with her own eyes, therefore, he's not real! ]

Um. No. [Oh Tenten.] Nara deer are half a meter or more taller than the kind you'll see in Luceti. Their fur doesn't get as thick, and only the fawns have any kind of markings.
[I KNOW MAH DEER OKAY.]

SHE IS SO UNEDUCATED ABOUT DEER sobs don't blame her. She tries so hard!!! ]
And, so, there are two different breeds in Luceti, right? The typical Luceti deer, and then the deer you raise? I guess it makes sense that the deer here have thicker fur, it's not as cold in Konoha.. [ She doesn't have anything to comment on the rest of this, though. She figures not to say too much since she's already proved she knows nothing on deer. ]

[That's something his dad does. He just got them to warm up to him. And not be afraid of him. And sometimes if he sees a few hanging around he steers them clear of places he knows Moro is. Or brings deer biscuits and trains with them and- oh shut up.]
Rikumaru is the only deer from the Nara Clan's land to come here, as far as I know. You're right in that assessment about the weather - hopefully he'll adapt by Winter. [He glances at the stag thoughtfully and Rikumaru looks back, communicating something silently.] But not counting him, there's two other breeds in Luceti.

knowsbelieves. ]Whoa-!? He's from home!? [ Tenten takes a couple of steps towards it. Part of her is tempted to pet that Konoha fur because WOW she really does miss Konoha but, to avoid looking weird, she restrains. ] I hope he's able to enjoy it here. If you ever need anyone to watch him, I'll be able to! Ever since Shelly [ the turtle she found in her laundry. ] came into my hands, I've been learning more and more about animal care. Small>[ Entrust her to take care of your deer, Shikamaru!!! Especially since she just compared it to a reptile!!! ]
LMAO that last part
Just this face. Which said deer is doing a glorious job of imitating somehow.]
