Anyways. I'm back. [Technically has been for two days albeit not in town, so he'll make it official.] Anything interesting hap- [His disinterested tone gives way to irritation as he turns his attention to something off-screen.] Oi that's not for you-

[The journal snaps shut with a sigh. He never finishes speaking, but about an hour later the post is transcribed... minus the interruption, and now with complete sentences.

If you're out today now that the heavy rain of the few days is finally letting up, you might spot Shikamaru coming back into the village from the North... closely followed by a deer much larger than Luceti's usual fare ((think five feet at the shoulders, six at the head, and eight feet with antlers)). The stag seems pretty content to follow him around - even into town or just standing around when he sits - despite sticking to the tree-lined paths when he can. Shikamaru talks to him sometimes.

Yes, talks, shut up.]

[She tries.

[He nods, and makes a clicking sound with his mouth. Rikumaru appears from behind the shop a few moments later, apprehensive but approaching. Let's do this.]

[Well, would you look at that. Temari forgets to watch his face as she turns to see the deer. He could be speaking; she wouldn't know.

She recognizes a companion when she sees one, though. She dips her chin in a sort of simple greeting. She says nothing, because anything she says would be painfully obvious.

[Oddly enough, that puts the deer better at ease with her than most everyone else. This has been an interesting experience for him, but he's not generally a people person.

He sniffs the air around her, and keeps an easy pace behind the two of them.]

Now do I pick a topic or wait for her to notice, I wonder...

[Didn't catch any of that, sorry Nara. After a moment, she chucks a thumb over her shoulder, toward the deer.]

He got a name?

[Haha, just what he thought. He shakes his head at his amusement, and pronounces each syllable slowly.]

Rikumaru.

[She lets the amusement go because, really, who wants to deal with that anyway? She repeats the name, but doesn't glance at the deer.]

Rikumaru, then.

[A pause] Seen enough snow for the time being, huh?
