031 -- [Action | Voice]
[Today is an understated awesome day, ladies and gentleman. To everyone? Okay, maybe not. But Shikamaru sure is pleased as punch. After a month's stay in the Battle Dome clinic recoveries from the injuries he got in his fight with Hidan, Shikamaru's finally cleared to check out today.
Before he gets the all-clear, he can be found in - brace yourselves - one of the Dome's simulation rooms. He's actually been using them for the past week for his physical therapy. If he's going to be doing a lot of walking, might as well change up the scenery.
Namely, he's replicated parts of the Nara Clan's forest. At its opening, the sky is more open, but the further in you go the thicker the trees grow together. Wandering will reveal easter eggs - old statues, broken and ruined, or a path of moss-covered stone lanterns. Maybe a young deer if you're lucky.
Other parts of the forest seem to be swallowed by shadow completely, offering nothing but pitch black that no amount of light will ease and the sense you're being watched if you step into them.
He'll try and clear up some stuff with Law before he goes, but after that he hits the journal.]

I'm assuming the events of that draft don't reflect Vaskoth as it usually should be?

Vaskoth was something else entirely, though. Was being the keyword, because I imagine they're still recovering from that hard hit. But it's several times larger than our village, to include a city and a military base among other things. The village was almost entirely self-sufficient.

Do drafts often happen in other enclosures, or is it an uncommon thing?

Most often that not, though, if the Malnosso are drafting it's because they're in dire straights and can't contain it on their own. Or hell, without what willing help they get. There were those in Vaskoth who apparently sign up to pardon the rest of their enclosure from participating.

In the last draft I was surprised to see that they were rejecting anyone from volunteering.

[Things aren't as simple as they would be in Pokémon world. So troublesome.]

The organization itself has been around for centuries. Nothing that old will look the same then as it is now.
Picture their development as a tree. When it was small, it was just budding and was growing straight and strong. Easily manageable.
We're seeing it as it is currently, a thousand years later. It's too tall now to properly care for in every sense. It's branches are too long and twisted, and there's more than either you or I can count. Everything from military to scientists; bureaucrats and pencil pushers. Once I even met a man who was employed by them as a dentist.

That means no simple solutions. What a troublesome mess.
What measures are we currently taking?

Everyone no doubt has their own plans and opinions on the questions you've asked, but they're going to be wide and ranging. But the point remains that to take any kind of action, we need to first come together.
[And they haven't yet.]

Ask and everyone could tell you their own reasons. It's troublesome, but you could never get enough people to agree. We don't know enough about this place to make a solid argument for either scenario.
