endgames | 033 -- [Action]

[In anticipation of a witch hunt, Shikamaru left the village a solid week or more ago for a spot he could wait things out and do as he liked. After John's report to the village, he trained with Twila's powers some and checked out the barrier. He never forgot that looming detail - that a deadline was approaching - but it wasn't the loudest though to linger in his mind.

"I've let your new attitude and wings slide, because we're friends. But it's starting to make you do things you wouldn't normally in a bad way. You should get it together."

It's troublesome but not untrue, which means that comes before anything else. Control is the name of the game here. Twila catered to his apathy, and while there's something nice about not feeling sad or anxious anymore, until they split ways he's going to be the one calling the shots. And after that week... he is for the most part, and ready to take care of things.]

[Since it's hard telling over the journals how much things settled in the village, so on June 9th he makes his way back on his very best behavior. Best. Maybe. PROVOKE HIM AND FIND OUT. He's still possessed by the start of the day, but in general, Shikamaru can be found attempting to mind himself while doing any of the following:

1. Observing people from high up places and making weirdly realistic shadow puppets to pass the time
2. Exploring the new parts of the tunnels
3. Searching out anyone he might have been an ass to, because he should make up for that 8|

One way or another he's back to normal by the end of the day, so people might find him in CH1 too after the fact.]

I'm just filling time here. If there was a cute girl here, I'd handle it some other way.

Probably not the most romantic idea, unless you find a girl who's into spelunking.

To make an elevator to explore them, I guess some would.

[And while he is looking forward to exploring, especially with the source of his anxiety about coming her removed, he's starting to second guess himself about going down here.

He feels like he owes Masaomi for being gone so long, and everyone else for wasting time when their could be answers in these tunnels, but he is progressively getting more queasy as this elevator ride goes on. And possibly more green around the edges. Maybe he did get up too soon.]

Jeez, this really is going so long. [He mutters this to himself as he begins to tap his foot. Seriously, it has to have been at least a minute now with them going straight down]

We pushed the button, right?

Yeah we did.

[And.... finally, as they comment on that, it comes to a halt]

[Than god. The door's open, and Shikamaru trudges out slowly. Man, it's huge down here.]

You know it's a wonder the roof doesn't collapse.

It's probably reinforced with Shifts, like the rest of the place.

[He looks from one tunnel to the next, noting all the different paths just from where they stand.] It'll probably take days to explore. I don't think I have it in me for more than a quick look around.

Same, honestly. Now I'm done being sick I think I'm hungry.

[But he did want to see what it was like down here, at least a little]

[...blech. He was joking about food early, but now it really is making him more queasy.]

He raises his voice to call out:] Echo!

Didn't we just want to go back up the elevator? [Because, you know, we wanted to to not stick around because he's hungry and sick and you're just sick]

[He snorts through the nose. Still, might as well make it worth it, right? Wordless, he sticks his hand out, pushing the tips of two fingers into Masaomi's back to shove/guide him. Just a few steps forward, and a little to the right: before the mouth of one tunnel, and within shot of another.]

[...Okay, if you say so. He'll just be awalkin' then, following the lead here. Or well, he's in front, but you know what I mean. He picks up the pace so as to not be poked and makes his way on in further]

[Pfft, they're not going far. Shikamaru pokes him once more in the back then drops his hand when they're there, a few steps later.]

There. Try it again.

[Okay if you say so man. In fact - inhale and exhale and:]

Echo!

[There we go. Due to positioning, there's much better feedback here. The sound practically vibrates throughout the place: in front overhead, and behind them.

Shikamaru smirks a little. It's been a while, since he's done something like that. Not since him and Kiba were kids.]

[Yeah, that was nice.

It was a feel good moment, really.]
