[The feed kicks on to a counter in the convenience store, height adjusting a split second after as if the person holding the journal realized he needs to hold it higher if anyone is going to see what's on the counter.
Correction made, the journal reveals a SLURPEE MACHINE, clean and ready to go with cups stacked to the side. The labels of the four flavors it offers are clearly displayed, from left to right: Mountain Dew, Blue Raspberry, Orange, and Dr. Pepper.
After holding it there for a good thirty seconds, Shikamaru turns his journal back to himself, straight-faced as he checks to make sure he got all the important bits shown. When it's confirmed, he focuses back on the feed itself with a grin.]
You're welcome.
[/end video]
[Shikamaru spends most of his day in the convenience store, prideful over the new working addition. Less so over what to do about the fresh-to-go items the store should be offering. At least he was able to get a Shift so the refrigerated items in the store self-replenish, and one for the slurpee machine too. The rest he'll have to figure out.
When evening comes along, Shikamaru goes into the tunnels to work more on the computer in there. After that, he detours for the bar instead of going home. Both of his roommates/two of his best friends are gone on a mission, so it's not like anyone will miss him. The least tidy out of the three of them, the apartment will be a mess when they get back so might as well take one day off from dirtying it up further. Besides, he has some items to drop off for Buffy anyways.
He'll just have a couple drinks after (no repeat of that other time) and go home.]

Something with a ridiculous Pokemon pun knowing our luck.]A machine for flavored ice, right? [a slight pause] Though I can't say I've ever had two of those flavors offered before.
[Take a wild guess which two he's talking about.]

Quittin' time for me is five, but I'll be here up until then. See you around.

Mm, alright. See you there!
[And, true to his word, Cilan will stop by the convenience store after he's taken care of some things first, stepping inside and looking around for the other before he spots him.] Hello Shikamaru! Are you busy?
action
action
Of course! I'm very curious to see what it is about this taste that you and Masaomi like so much. [...Though it's probably not that big of a mystery and involves a lot of sugar. ^^;;]
action
Let me set you up. [He takes out four cups from under the counter: the small type you'd get from a water cooler, as opposed to the big plastic ups that have been neatly stacked by the slurpee machine. Walking around:] You wanna try them in any set order?
action
Hm...for this particular case, I don't mind what order they're in. Please feel free to give us whichever one you'd recommend trying first!
action
Alright. [He fills the cups first - it doesn't take long small as they are. First up then is... blue raspberry. He turns back around and hands the cup to Cilan.] First contestant.
action
[...Yes, Cilan can actually sense these things.]
action
action
But like I said, there is an appropriate amount of the blue raspberry mixed in this one, which means it's taste will last longer in case the ice accidentally melts too quickly.

That's two for four. Since I already know the Mountain Dew is a hit.
[And speaking of that, he slides another cup at Cilan. Guess what's up next?]
action
My, you sound quite confident of that... [Nothing wrong with that, of course. Confidence is good to have.] It's becoming a taste with high expectations, I'd even say.
action
I might be building it up too much, I'll admit. But if all else fails, it's a hit with me. I can call it a good investment because of that.
action
[Lemon and lime, from what he can tell--and when he says "very sweet", he means it. He has a feeling that a lot of sugar was used in the original soda flavor... ^^;;]
action
Takes getting used to, huh? Took me a while to taste past the sugar.
