endgames | 035 -- [action

[It's an antsy day, in an antsy week. Every time he gets back from a mission, lately, it feels like that. He's had a project in the mountains the last several days, and with the news from CJ last night, Shikamaru can think of a lot of other things he'd rather be doing. But with Korra on a mission, he'd feel bad for ducking out of work. At least he wasn't here for the experiment, or worse: his birthday.

So he can be found at the convenience store until late afternoon, messing around with a digital camera. He got it last December as a Christmas present from Precis, but he actually hasn't practiced with it any until now. Sorry if you are SUDDENLY BLINDED by the flash feature he didn't know was there, he didn't mean it.

Unless you're Naruto or Masaomi. If you're Naruto or Masaomi, he's doing it on purpose because he's an ass and this is what true friendship is built on.

Later in the day, before work gets out, he'll crack open his journal to make a post. He's been thinking about this for the last week, reading up and practicing how to make asphalt. It's not as difficult as he would've though, and he thinks he has it down now.]

Hey, Luceti. It's kind of late in the year for it, but the weather's been dry enough... So let's pave the roads. Anyone up for it?

Come to the following coordinates at 1900 hours. Uzumaki Naruto is going to test the barrier, and he may need medical assistance afterwards.

Dunno! I've never done it before, but I've read up on the process. It sounds like it'll take a lot of work.

Definitely. You'd be able to lay it out faster than the rest of us, anyways.

That's great! I'll definitely do what I can to help. What're the roads gonna be for?

Well it makes transporting thing easier. We don't have cars or anything yet, but carts? Wheelbarrows? That'll all be less troublesome with a nice, even path.

I guess you're right! I mean, I'm sure Appa would be happy to help transport things around if people need it, but he can only do so much... so roads could be really handy! Maybe people can start wheeling around fruits and stuff around like at home, even.

[God help whoever in the village thinks it's a good idea to do so with cabbage.]

If we had enough people to make a road to the farm, I could see that happening.

Neat! Sounds like that'd take a long time, too. But I bet Toph'll wanna help too, and she'll help things move more quickly.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't see it happening anytime in the near future without an earthbender, or someone who could do similarly.

Well you're in luck! Even Korra's an earthbender, so I'm sure we'll all do what we can. [They'll just have to wait for Korra to get back... and ultimately also wind up waiting on Toph to get better. But Aang is sure that volunteering them is fair game.] We're gonna be a regular bunch of roadbenders.

You sure they'll be okay with that?

I'm sure they will be! I just have to ask them nicely. Plus I'm sure Toph'll do anything that'll show people how great her earthbending is. And Korra... she already works for you in a way, so it'll just be like being your employee in a different way! It'll all work out.
