015 -- [Action || Voice]
[Shikamaru is heading out to train in the forest today. Should anyone run into him out there, they'll be in for an interesting sight.
Deer. Not a lot of them at once - and fancy that, none are being slaughtered - and while at first skittish hearing footsteps, they don't run away from him when he approaches them. In fact, they come closer to him when they see what he's brought - apples and sembei biscuits. It took a lot of work getting these deer to trust him - he has no intention of taming them, but they're not like the ones his clan raises back home on their land that are just used to his presence either. The Nara are deer tenders, however, so Shikamaru's picked up more than a few tricks over the years. He'll walk about the forest for a while longer, feeding them as he goes.
Eventually, he'll find the deer he was looking for and get down to his training - which is half the reason why he worked so hard to get the deer used to him. They make excellent picks to practice his shadow jutsus with, though he'll stick with just the Kage Mane for now. When he's done there, he'll cut through town and back to CH1.
...don't mind the bloodstains - dried, not his - down the back of his flak jacket if you see him. He'd have left it back in his room, but it's easier to store his weapons in the vest, and with Sasuke back in Luceti he's keeping those on him at all times, yes.]

[The next day, however, after he's recovered his chakra, Shikamaru will be making a trip to the roof of CH2, looking for the garden Itachi kept before he disappeared from Luceti, curious if he'll still find it there. Or him, if he's even still in the building. No, he doesn't care that it's pouring rain out there - if he gives any more thought to this than he already has, he's going to be sick to his stomach.]

We've gotta talk. [At least he was being patient and letting Shikamaru train, but if you're gonna call out to him, he might as well say so now.]

It's muttered, though. Despite the warning, the stag is smarter than he looks. When Shikamaru can't hold him any longer - and four minutes and twenty-five seconds still isn't enough - the animal tosses it's head and raises it's legs, slamming them into the ground.
Shikamaru turns his attention back to him for the moment, shooting it a look.] Relax. You're fine, aren't you? [He reaches into his sack to pull out two apples, tossing them away and into the bushes. And then with a faint grin:] Go eat.
[Action]
He turns his head over to look at Naruto, then.] So let's talk.
[Action]
Anyway, with that deer out of the way, Naruto's going to be jumping down from the tree and looking over to Shikamaru with quite the serious expression. It's a determined expression. Shikamaru would recognize it, right?] It's about what Sasuke told you. About Itachi and all of those things.

[He knows Naruto was able to listen in on that discussion. He'd kept the filter open to all three of them.
Naruto's got to be the only other person in this place that loves their village more than Shikamaru himself has come to. His lack of a reaction to what Sasuke said was telling, to say the least.]

[Naruto would mention that he was told by Itachi in Luceti awhile ago, but when he returned with no memories, he was told to forget everything Itachi previously told him. He doesn't want to go back on his word.]
Madara told us -- me, Captain Yamato and Kakashi-sensei. Exactly the same thing Sasuke told you, give or take a bit.

Uchiha Madara is known for being a manipulator. We don't have a lot of reason to take him at his word.

The three of us swore not to tell anyone what he told us until we could make sure it was true or not.

Nothing I know about. It's been awhile since I saw Kakashi-sensei. [Which brings him to:] You can't tell anyone you know about that, alright?
[Action]
But. [Hhe leans forward, closing his eyes with an exhale; thinking.] We do need to find out whether it's the the truth or not.
[Action]
How d'you think we can do that? Any ideas? [He wouldn't mind finding out if everything that happened to Sasuke really was because of Itachi being bossed around by the Konoha elders.]
[Action]
[He frowns, bringing his hands together in thought.] Think about it, Naruto. Until Madara started talking about it, supposedly no one had even heard of this. If it's true, more people knew about you being the host for the Kyuubi, and there was a law in place keeping people from talking about that.
If anyone had know about this, it would've have taken eight years for it to get out to the rest of the village. The Uchiha were one of the noble clans, and Sasuke aside, people have a lot of respect for them to this day. Barring everyone who was directly involved, it's likely no one else knows anything about this.
[...his brow furrows.
Everyone involved... and Uchiha Madara.]

[He rubs his forehead, thinking. And he's so freaking tired of thinking.] Heh. Times like these, I really wish someone like Tsunade-sama or my dad were around.
