Hi. [The journal feed starts unceremoniously.] Noticed the village is getting back into the swing of things. Either that or those who are sulking are doing so more quietly. Good luck with that, whichever.
But hey. I'm looking for a lighter that I misplaced. Anyone comes across it, lemme know. Thanks.
[/end voice]
[Through the afternoon and evening, Shikamaru can be found in various places around the village: digging through things in shops, searching through grass and shrubs and so on. He hasn't been around the village much in the last two days, busy elsewhere with his deer.
Now it almost seems like he's making up for it. One minute you might walk past him digging through the trash behind a building, only to go in to find he's inside already (probably asking if the place has a lost and found). Someone's busy.]

There can be no witnesses...Better go and explain herself. Pascal runs over to the door and pops her head out from underneath all the smoke.]Hey, Shikamaru, this isn't what it looks like! [...] Hey, you're back! Yay!
[Action]
Yeah. Back. What happened here?
[Action]
[That explanation covered everything. Yup. Just going to actually come out from the smoked-out shop now and get some fresh air.]
Phew! That was pretty cool.
[Action]
Not that much smoke! [He should probably open up some more windows in there, and be grateful there isn't smoke detectors.]
Oh jeez... that owner is going to be pissed...
[THIS WAS NOT HIS FAULT.]
[Action]
[She dives back into the smoke filled building, rummages around and reemerges with some of these beauties spinning in her hands. Oh, and one in her mouth for good measure. They're not doing much, but they're at least blowing some of the smoke away!]
Shee? It'sh 'onna ee ay-okay! [Fan-in-mouth talk is a very complex language to properly master.]
[Action]
Yeah. Those won't do much, but we can open windows. So long as this place is cleared out before she gets back, it'll be cool. [He steps in to the building slowly, waving his hand to clear up some smoke so he can see.] It's not like much else could've happened in there in two minutes, right?
[Action]
Huh? Nuh uh, nu'hin elsh hap'nd! [Blah. Fans taste bad. Pascal opts for holding the fan in one of her hands instead. Two fans in one hand is incredibly daring okay.] Except for all the stuff I threw on the floor, but we can totally clean that up in no time too!
[Time to open some windows! It's a little hard to do when your hands are full of fans, but possible.]
Before who comes back? ... Oooh, I get it, they're allergic to smoke! I getcha, don't want whoever-this-is freaking out when they come back.
[Action]
[And nearly tripping over said stuff thrown on the floor. He sighs and steps around it.]
What made you feel throwing crap on the floor was a good thing to do?
[Action]
[Most of the stuff just happens to be containers of different shapes and sizes.]
Whew, window open! Bye-bye smoke, thanks for smoking out the place!
[Action]
[But he got the impression she'd set it off in the first place. Why would she-- oh wait. It clicks now.]
For future reference, there wasn't a person in that smoke cloud.
[Action]
[But she saw you man. You went up in smoke. And then you were outside all okay as if you didn't go up in smoke.]
So I'm guessing by makin' more smoke I couldn't have made a new you anyway. Man, that was a waste. Next time I'll just go find the real you, don't worry!
[Action]
[Action]
[Action]
[--that is giving him a really cool idea though. When Naruto clones himself, he clones his weapons too. So theoretically if he were holding a journal...]
[Action]
[... She'll just give the real Shikamaru a pat on the back now. To make up for before.]
There we go!
[Action]
WOW, THAT'S DEPRESSING.]
Yeah. Let down.
[Action]
Aww c'mon, do you want another or something?
[She'll pat him again, a little harder this time. CHEER UP.]
[Action]
[HE'S GOOD, REALLY.]
[Action]
Y'okay! [A third would have been silly! Two is fine though.] You still don't look too good. Maaaybe you've been in the smoke too long.
[Action]
[Action]
[Help you with whatever it is you're doing.]
[Action]
We should focus on this mess first, don't you think?
[Action]
[Still holding the fans, Pascal picks up as much junk that she threw on the floor as she can and starts moving it off the floor. Not putting it away, just moving the mess elsewhere. It;s fiiine.]
So come on, you gonna let me lend a hand?
[Action]
[Wow, you'd think she wasn't helping - only that's exactly what she's trying. He's been stressing over this. Show some gratitude, even if she is spunky.
After a moment, he smiles.]
We're looking for a lighter. 'bout so big. [He uses his hand to indicate the size.]
[Action]
[... It could happen. She deposits another junk pile somewhere else. That floor is so clean now you could eat off of it.]
