Appointment's Post II

This post is for threading with Shikamaru anytime and anywhere. It can be used for action tags or the ping feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for anything that you don't feel like would take place in a regular log or post.

[ Huff. He'll cross his arms and step back here. ]

[Shikamaru doesn't bother testing it himself, but he does examine the symbols, touching them with a hand.]

They look different.

[ He can't tell. But now he wants to look at it... ]

[Shikamaru will make room for him to inspect, tracing his fingers over the perceived differences.]

I'm guessing it's not connected to the one at the apartment anymore. There could be any numbers of reasons for how that could happen, but it should be an easy fix soon as we get back to the village.

... Yeah but do you know how far we are from the village?

[ It's dawning on him. Slowly. That they are a good several days out from the village, easily, if this thing isn't connected. He examines the marking too and - no he can't tell a difference ]

It's not so bad. [He rotates his shoulder, looking uncharacteristically enthused given the suggestion he's about to make.] A hike sounds good, in fact.

We should leave soon, actually. [He squints up at the sky, where dark clouds have been forming.] Our tents aren't gonna cut it if it starts storming. We're better off taking shelter in the bathhouse by the hot springs until it passes.

[ Uuuuuughhhh ] you're serious, aren't you...

[ He sighs, shoving his hands in his pockets and glancing at the rest of their shit ]

'course I am. [He walks back towards their things, and the short waterfall not far off from it. Luckily he has his scroll up here - the one Davis was in. He'd needed his body to... you know... determine the dimensions he needed to make his coffin in. So it won't be hard to pack up.] You'd push me off a cliff if it rains and I start smelling like a wet dog, right?

You really need to do something about that.

[ Fine, he'll go put his shit into the over the shoulder pack that Katara made for him and he's been using for stuff like this. It's bit and blue and leather, so it's convenient ]

[There's not a lot he can do about it, other than... stop. Which. He's not willing to do. So he just waves that off and gets to gathering their things. After he seals the tent things that Masaomi's pack can't carry, he goes over to his work area behind the waterfall (he's built way too much furniture up here before) to put away Davis' coffin in the scroll too. If they're going to be out here so long, might as well.]

[ Riiiiiight. You do that. He'll just be over here talking to Linda, who is huffing a bit at the idea that they're complaining about the weather. Or well, Masaomi is. He's telling het to shut uo, and she huffs right back, it's not like she won't help him out!! ]

[Aaaand everything's sealed up. Shikamaru yawns loudly as he walks back toward them, slinging the scroll on his back. He didn't sleep great (hasn't for several days) and it probably shows, but he's feeling pretty great now.]

We miss anything?

Everything we need to. I think we can afford to leave some of your unfinished stuff and the logs we were just using to practice. Not like we'd bring those home anyway.

[ S h r u g ]

[A snort.] Yeah. It's not like we're short on rocks and trees up in the mountains to use instead.

[He turns back around now, for the incline/exit out of the valley.]

For sure, or mountain goats.

[ Because there are a lot of them, way too many of them . . . Huff huff. But oh well, he's got this ]

Practicing on mountain goats just sounds like a headache. Might as well go for broke and try a moose.

[You know, like this looker across the lake from them.]

Wait, I missed something. What are we practicing now?

I think they're funny? 'course, them being so bad is what makes them that funny.
