This post is for threading with Shikamaru anytime and anywhere. It can be used for action tags or the ping feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for anything that you don't feel like would take place in a regular log or post.

[It really is the best, even with the bright green interior. Or because of it. He's still not regretting picking that one. Not that it's on his mind today when he heads out of his apartment, a bag of power tools slung on his back. Hope you don't mind a stop to pick up a passenger on the fourth floor, Silver.]

Well, yeah. You have wings, and you can fly. [Therefore he should clearly want to spend as much time racing through the air as possible. Or at least he should. Then again, his wings are black, and that leaves Zatanna feeling less than enthused about this guy.]

That's none of your concern. [Those in itself are painful memories. Ones that enrage him. Ones he doesn't care to think about anymore. His teeth clench just being reminded of them.]

So what, are you going to try to kill me since the cat's out of the bag? [He's still curious about why he cut off the magic trying to control the Saiyan. Perhaps this is why he hasn't already taken off trying to kill Shikamaru yet.]

[She still feels a little tense, but Shikamaru seems much the same as she remembered. And it's not like she herself has changed. (Is it?) Knives seems to think it may come down to killing.

No. She has trouble believing that. People are the same. Just a little... off.]

[The situation is awkward. But nevertheless, though she's wary, it's genuine concern that prompts the question.]

Well, I've been eating healthier breakfasts sometimes. When I don't go to the bakery. [Let's disregard the fact that this was mostly an attempt to get other people on the floor to eat; Neji, in particular, had noticeably lost weight, and Chouji tried to be home a little more often to check on people for awhile.

The mochi looks good, so he takes that too, nodding approval once he tries it.]

I want to take her to the dance tonight. [A pause, because of the obvious problem. He scratches the back of his head.] I know neither one of us are attending anymore, but I think it would mean a lot to her...

[Almost before Vash has even finished his final sentence, Shikamaru is shaking his head.]

No, no loans.

[It's not as bad as it would be, accepting money from Tony Stark. But fairly, if he can't ask for help with this from his own father, he doesn't think he has the cause to bother someone else with it. He and his mom are so close to pulling this off on their own, after all these sacrifices.]

[Belle is out making her usual rounds around the village, picking up food and other items needed around the house she shares with Beast. The convenience store is not one of her ordinary stops, but today she decides to go inside and look around. She picks up a few candy bars, happy that chocolate is a delicacy easier to get a hold of here. The slushy machine is an oddity she's never seen before. She stands before it for a long moment before shaking her head and turning away.

Finally, she approaches the counter with an expression of polite curiosity.]

Excuse me, would you tell me what that machine does? [She turns and points at the slushy machine.]

[Shikamaru, finally back at work after his long mission, no doubt waved to the new customer as she came in even if he was occupied with something else at the time. The trash can behind the counter is overflowing with soda cans, and he was no doubt tsking to himself about it while he cleaned up.

He's finished by the time Belle approaches, and noticeably lightens up at the subject.]

That one over there? It's pretty cool, if I say so myself. Ever hear of a slushee?

[ Korra didn't show up for work on Monday, and when she shows up today, she offers no excuse for her absence, instead striding in as usual and dropping into a chair behind the counter. By first appearance, she seems fine. But she isn't. Her knuckles are red, even scabbing slightly, and she has a back habit of scratch at them. There are circles under her eyes, too, telling of her difficulty sleeping in recent weeks. ]

Hey, Shikamaru. [ She regards him coolly. ] Anything new?

[Hyper aware as he is, he takes this in and processes it all very quickly. Not counting Ikki's party, this is probably the first he's run into Korra since he's been back, and he's wondering how the last two weeks went.]

Well, I had to pick up a bag's worth of crushed cans I found under the counter, if that qualifies.

[ And Masaomi and Shikamaru were... out training in the Mountain Valley. Sort of an all night camp-out the night before where they decided to stay in a tent because the weather was pretty warm and they were training with some ninja shit. Naturally, Linda was there too. But then, in the night, a Shift happened. Then, in the night, specifically, Leon was shifted...

Which means that- ]

Yeah, this thing's definitely busted.

[ Msasaomi says this, with a bit of growing alarm, opening and shutting the door to the fridge-teleporter ]

Well don't break it more.

[Shikamaru sounds considerably less panicked by this. Probably because if he really wanted to book it back to the village he could do it in under a day, but still. He walks closer to inspect the fridge himself.]

[There are a few places that Shikamaru can hopefully be found, and Silver is doing his best to check all of them. He has good news to spread and is all too eager to ignore the weird shifts and time problems and ghosts of people he cares about and spread it. There's a delicious pizza with Shikamaru's potential approval on it.

Of course, finding the stupid ninja is turning out to be harder than expected. What a surprise, a ninja that's tough to find. Where could he be? The convenience store? His apartment? He doesn't really like the battle dome...]

[Well he's not in his usual apartment building, but he is pretty close to it. Right now, Shikamaru is feeling pretty proud of himself actually! While who he ran into before this point is up in the air, one way or another it looks like he managed to get outside.

That this isn't the Luceti he's used to doesn't bother him too much, because he's figuring this is an experiment. But no one else knows that he knows that. This is the best excuse to get out of school if there ever was one, in his opinion, and he's going to celebrate that by playing hooky at the rec center.]
