Appointment's Post II

[endgames]

This post is for threading with Shikamaru anytime and anywhere. It can be used for action tags or the ping feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for anything that you don't feel like would take place in a regular log or post.

Why would I let go something that hasn't been resolved yet?

[endgames]

Because your resolution offers no compromise. I haven't seen you put any idea out other than me leaving immediately, anyways.

[installing]

Why should I compromise? There's a million other places you can be that isn't here.

[endgames]

[He sounds exasperated.] Because if you'd stop talking, I could be finished eating and out of your hair by now!

[installing]

Why do you have to eat here anyway? Why couldn't you pick somewhere else!?

[endgames]

I wanted to have a view of the lake. It's not like I saw you!

[installing]

There's nothing to see! And you know the lake is-
[She wanted to say "my place," but it honestly isn't hers and she knows it. Lakes are public. Though something insists that he's an intruder in her space.]

Is a popular place! You better be glad I'm not someone who can shoot fire, or whatever.

[endgames]

Wow. Talk about your escalation. When a man can't even sit down without getting fireballs thrown at him...

[Well whatever. He goes back to eating his apple, a little more quietly.]

[installing]

Well maybe you should be eating your food at a table.

[endgames]

[With a sing-song voice:] Can't hear you.

[installing]

Then must I raise my voice, get closer to your ear, or both?

[endgames]

[He raises his chin, directing his words skyward.]

If I could hear a thing the woman down there has to say, I would reply that she can do whatever she wants. I, for my part, will not be leaving until I've finished what I sat down for.

[installing]

[Winry, frustrated, decides to do something a little mean. With a quick gesture she makes the water from the lake into a little spout that sprays Shikamaru in the face with about the same force as a small water gun.]

[endgames]

[Little spout. He was facing away from her - and by extension, the lake - so that's some skills there.

Still, he was expecting an attack to the back over that, so she gets him right as he was about to take another bite of his apple. Cue some sneezing, when water goes up his nose. (bah)]

[installing]

[She's always found "bending" really cool, so once she gained an affinity for the water movement thanks to Sona she started practicing. Honestly it would have been easier to squirt the back of his head, but Winry thought that getting him in the face would reap better benefits. Even now she's feeling a little proud of herself. A smirk sets on her lips as she raises her hands to her hips.]

[Wiping his nose, he's irritated, but with a grim face he's thinking as he normally would: don't sink to the other guy's level, and don't make it worse.

But there are whispers in his heart, where those frustrations echo. Where's the fairness in always having to be the one to roll over?]

[endgames]

[Shikamaru bites deep into the center of the apple, turning his head to the side until it's in-line with his shadow. As it becomes thicker, stretching down the tree to mix with the shadows on the ground near the shore below, he spits into it.

The apple seeds vanish into it like into fog, only to pop out the other end from the ground, shooting to bounce off her head.]

[Oh, that's it. Sona's bipolar-like nature enrages her even further than she'd normally be. With a large, overhead sweeping motion she wills the water from the lake to produce a large jet to spray Shikamaru in the back. She intends to finally knock him off the branch.]

[endgames]

[He's not a ninja for nothing. Tossing the apple in the air, he tips himself backwards off his branch before grabbing it in the fall to swing himself back around and up high. Shikamaru lands on his feet two branches up, catching the apple back out of the air as the water takes the leaves off the branch he was sitting on just a moment before.]

Tit for tat. [He waves the apple, with a sing-song voice.] You know I can't let that slide, right?

[Not that he's going to stand still long enough for her to redirect that jet of water back at him, or something worse. He jumps to the other side of the tree, out of sight.]

[installing]

[She makes the jet of water circle high in the tree (but not too high because the excess leaves would hinder her move). Once the water is circling the tree she releases it. If Shikamaru stays in the immediate area he'll be effectively rained on.]

Oh, shut up.

[endgames]

[And that he is, frowning up in annoyance at the shower before shaking his hair dry. He should probably just hide in a shadow--

Actually, there'd be shadows in the lake, right?]

You're the one yapping.

[And okay, let's try this. Feeling the shadows at the bottom of the lake, he opens them up to begin sucking up the water, like a drain.]

[installing]

You're the one who disturbed my quiet in the first-

[She feels something is wrong. Slowly she turns around, and stares horrified at what's happening.]

What are you doing?!

[endgames]

Can't splash me if you don't have water, right?

[Aaaand there. Another moment, and he feels when he's got what he wanted. Everything's set up.]

[installing]

What did you do with all that water? Put it back!
