How often have you run into people in Luceti that you personally knew already, back where you're from?

[It's something he's been wondering about idly these past few days. In the last week, five people have shown up from his world. Most of the people here now he's met face-to-face - hell, went to school with - back home, sans Itachi. And he'd at least heard of him. He knows it's not unusual for people you know to show up here, but now he's beginning to wonder how frequently it happens.

It also makes him wonder who else might show up here someday. Not just from his world.]

Not sure if you remember me or not - this is Nara Shikamaru. If you have a moment, I'd like to talk to you.

[He and his friends have been lucky so far, in that everyone who's come from home is an ally. If someone from the Akatsuki were to show up, or someone like Uchiha Madara...

Not for the first time, a certain list comes to mind. He went to the trouble of updating it over the weekend, but there's still more to be done. At this point, he's not even sure if it's worth the risk keeping the list around, but until he makes a solid decision he's gotta keep at it.



Which also means looking more into these names, as well as some that aren't on it. Not all at once - he doesn't have the time. But he'll start with something odd he heard on the journals once, before he was kidnapped in July.]

I have a few questions for you, if you'll hear me out.

[After he's finished his to-do-list for the day, Shikamaru makes his way to the Seventh Heaven for a particular game of shogi. It's only later on that he catches on to what the day is - possibly by being suspiciously informed several times B| - not that the date means much to him.

As always, though, it's a good reminder of what the day after is. And that he should get on that. How troublesome.]

[ Tenten looks a bit different today. Her buns are covered in ornate braids, suggesting that today has a Very Special Occasion, which Shikamaru would be able to notice. She'll keep a straight face, but with a tiny wavering smile, at the sight of Shikamaru in a flower shop.

[Because a nice stroll around the village seems like a good idea (and she's also trying to find a comrade of hers who seem to be celebrating his birthday today), Hinata decided to go with it. Since it's not polite to go looking for him with her Byakugan, it takes a while for her to find him.

She finally does in a flower shop and - since she knows he must be there to buy Ino flowers the next day - she doesn't approach him at first. It's later that she does so with a soft smile and a small nod.]

Ah, Shikamaru-kun.
